PERUVIAN SHAMANISM AND THE CURANDERO'S MESA
Shamanism is the practice of healing by "mediating between the seen and unseen forces, energies or spirits, in service to the community." The Antisuyu Ayllu is a community of diverse individuals dedicated to the teachings of the Northern Coastal Peruvian curanderismo and Southern Andean shamanism as taught by Oscar Miro-Quesada.
The mesa is considered an embodiment of the natural world. The mesa invokes sacred space and is used to open a doorway between the worlds. As practitioners of shamanism, as taught by Oscar, we are all Mesa Carriers.
