| The
Phoenix is an ancient, timeless, universal symbol of immortality, resurrection
and transformation. It represents the infinite cycle of life. Seen by some as
the herald of a new era for humanity, the Phoenix is also a symbol of empowerment
and the indomitable spirit of mankind.
According to legend, the Phoenix becomes aware of an inner knowing that its life has reached its pinnacle and so chooses to surrender completely to the fire of its own creation. Through its own power the Phoenix recreates itself arising ever more radiant to continue the eternal cycle. Once reborn, its first act is to gather the ashes of its pyre and parent from which it has risen, into an egg made of myrrh. Thousands of birds journey with him in friendship (the hawk and the sparrow; the eagle and the dove) to place the egg on the altar of the temple of the sun. Afterwards they soar towards a distant paradise singing in harmony. Within our hearts we too have the ability, through conscious choice, to re-create ourselves and transform the world. Join us to celebrate the
sacred power of fire as a vehicle for personal and global transformation.
Through ceremony, connecting with nature, workshops, personal healings, art,
music and honoring the sacred teachings of our ancestors, we will move towards
a new era of commitment to ourselves and the healing of our beloved Pachamama. Some highlights of the weekend include: Group ceremonies
and earth offerings led by Oscar Miro-Quesada along with special guests in
the tradition of Heart Island (South America), Serpent Island (Central America)
and Turtle Island (North America) |
